Economic Development Programs
Hilltown CDC supports economic development in the
hilltowns through fostering the start-up and growth of local
businesses, strengthening the local economy and creating more local
jobs. Our business programs are for business owners or those who are
considering starting a business in the Hilltowns.

Both in-depth and single-issue curricula are aimed
at increasing the success of existing as well as startup businesses. A
4-week Explorer class helps participants decide if starting a business
is right for them, and a 10-week Growing Your Business class
takes business owners through the process of creating a business plan.
Both classes can have special sections designed specifically for arts
or farm/forestry-related businesses. Shorter workshops are also offered
on computer technology issues, including designing your own website and

Hilltown CDC offers free specialized business
consulting to hilltown businesses. Both existing and prospective
businesses are eligible.
Recent business consulting has helped businesses with:

----financing alternatives for starting or growing a business;
----business plan development;
----website development, improvement and maintenance;
----marketing for non-experts;
----editing digital photos;
----Quickbooks, beyond the basics;
----database construction.
