Social Services Programs
Hilltown CDC seeks to support a high quality of life for those in need in the hilltown community. We bring social services to the hilltowns through organizing, advocacy, resource development and administering programs directly. We currently support three social service programs:

The Hilltown Elder Network (HEN) is a community program that addresses the concern for the safety and independence of isolated elders. HEN matches dedicated area residents, who serve as paid HEN caregivers, with rural elder residents who are in need of assistance in order to live independently in their own homes. HEN assists low to moderate income elders with a variety of services including home cleaning and laundry chores, food shopping and meal preparation, escorted transportation and snow removal.

The Health Outreach Program for Elders (HOPE) brings essential medical services into homes of elders who cannot travel. Administered by the Hilltown Health Centers Inc., HOPE brings physician, nursing and podiatric services into the homes of income eligible hilltown elders.

The Sisters Ink Program offers mentoring and creative arts activities for hilltown girls ages 9-12 from income eligible families. Workshop series, field trips, exhibitions and public presentations are designed to counter the chronic tendency of girls within this age group to withdraw from activities and school participation.
