Did you know you can ride the Hilltown Easy Ride van to connect with PVTA buses and other public transportation services?

Eligible riders can book a ride to either Williamsburg or to Northampton and transfer to any PVTA bus, or even the Peter Pan bus for trips out of town. Destinations include the Hampshire Mall, Amherst, Holyoke and Springfield.

Selling on ETSY: Online Sales for Art and Vintage Items

When:  Thursday & Friday September 20 & 21st, 2018 6:00 - 6:00 pm

Where:  Hilltown CDC Office, 387 Main Road, Chesterfield

Etsy is an online marketplace where people around the world can connect to buy and sell unique goods on a vibrant community of 30 million buyers and creative businesses.  It provides an online marketplace for crafters, artists, and collectors to sell their handmade creations, vintage goods and crafting supplies.  Grow your brand with a wealth of new customers and Etsy promotional tools.  In this two day class you’ll learn about selling on Etsy including how to open your shop, market your product, shipping, and Etsy’s buying and selling guidelines.  Participants must have general computer knowledge and an active email account.  You will need to check your email in class to create an Etsy account so please know your email password.  Plan on attending both class sessions.   Computers will be available for use.

Public Hearing

PUBLIC HEARING

 

When: Monday, July 23rd, 2018 at 5:00 pm.

Where: Selectboard Meeting Room,

Town Offices, 422 Main Road, Chesterfield

 

Two items regarding the Chesterfield CDBG FY17 grant including the towns of Cummington, Goshen, Peru, Plainfield and Worthington will be discussed:

 

  • A review of the Housing Rehabilitation Program, the HEN Program, HOPE, Food Pantry and Childcare Subsidy Programs will be conducted.

  • Budget Revision – shift of funds from one Social Service program to two other Social Service Programs.

Hilltown Open Studio Tour- Day 2

Day Two  of the Hilltown Arts Tour

HILLTOWN OPEN STUDIO TOUR

June 23rd and 24th, 2018

Worthington MA, April 19, 2018– The Hilltown Arts Alliance is pleased to launch their first ever Open Studio Tour this spring and welcome visitors to view their work as well as the great beauty of the region.  The tour will wind its way amongst majestic mountain views, streams, timeless backroads and old growth forests to visit the work places of some of our finest artists.  Guests will get a glimpse into both the creative process and the physical work which make up the daily lives of these creative and visionary “Hilltowners”.

There will be 26 artists participating at 24 locations, plus a group exhibition at the Cummington Community House Gallery.  Hilltown Open Studio Tour is taking place in the towns of Chesterfield, Cummington, Plainfield, North Chester, and Worthington.  This is the first year of what is hoped to be an annual event.

"As artists we spend hours alone working in the studio creating our art. We welcome the opportunity to share it with the public and give them a glimpse into our private workspace,” explains participant Peggy Klineman for her passion to make this event part of the Hilltown arts scene.

Goshen Senior Housing Lottery

A lottery of the applicants for the 10 units of affordable senior housing located at 41 Main Street Goshen, will be held at the Goshen Town Hall beginning at 10 am on March 14, 2018.  It is anticipated that the units will be ready for occupancy by June, 2018.  All Goshen Senior Housing applicants and the general public are invited to attend.

CDBG Public Hearing- Town of Chesterfield

The Chesterfield SelectBoard will hold a public hearing regarding the planning for the Mass. Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) FY 18 Program.  Public comment is invited on the following meeting topic:  An application to the Federal FY 2018 Massachusetts Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program for the participating communities of Chesterfield, Cummington, Goshen, Peru, Plainfield and Worthington.  The participating towns are applying jointly for the following possible projects:  Housing Rehabilitation Program and Social Services Programs including:  Health Outreach Programs for Elders (run by HCHC); Hilltown Food Pantry (run by NSC); the Hilltown Elder Network administered by Hilltown CDC, the Childcare Subsidy, and It Takes a Village. 

The general public and representatives of participating towns and organizations with ideas regarding these projects or other possible projects should attend to present their views.  The Town of Chesterfield, through its Selectboard, will be responsible for grant oversight.  Hilltown CDC will assist the Chesterfield Selectboard by preparing the CDBG grant application and will oversee implementation of the projects if the grant is awarded.   For additional information or if you cannot attend the hearing, but have comments you would like to make, contact Bea, write to Hilltown CDC, P.
